Enhancing youth athletics in the Southern Maryland Community.

Besides providing children with a long list of health benefits, participating in sports allows children to reap many social benefits as well.

Our mission is to enhance our local clubs and teams ability to provide high quality youth athletic programs to our community, through strategic programs, team partnership, and long term planning.

Youth Scholarship Program

Financial assistance for youth sports participation.

The cost of youth sports continues to rise, and many children are left out because of that. SMAA will find sponsors to support our youth and encourage their participation in which ever sports they love. All needs from all types of families will be considered, from the rec level to the year round travel level.

Athletic Complex Project

Bringing a modernized athletic complex to our community.

Our goal is to build a privately funded athletic complex in a centralized location for the Southern Maryland Region area to support the wide variety of athletic needs. Turf fields for lacrosse, football, and soccer. Baseball and softball fields. Support for Track & Field. Indoor facilities for basketball, swimming, and wrestling. We will support any sport for our local youths. This complex will serve as a training and competition home for SMAA Member Organizations.

Youth Sports Club Management

Working together to make less work.

Why work independently? Why not share resources? SMAA’s goal is to centrally manage as many Southern Maryland youth sports clubs as possible. Let’s work together. Many hands make light work. And so does sharing resources.

Equipment ‘Recycling’ Program

Redistributing lightly used athletic equipment.

This program will assist our community in two ways. Families can donate their used equipment to the program for a tax-deductible credit. SMAA will resell this equipment at a substantially reduced price. All money generated will be submitted towards the Athletic Complex Project Fund.
